How-To Conservate Garden Water

Paul Simon, Landscape Horticulturist with the National Gardening Association provides guidance on how to conserve water in the garden. Paul discusses ways you can manage water use, including irrigation maintenance, alternative water sources, adding mulch and soil polymers for moisture retention, planting drought tolerant varieties, developing rain gardens to capture storm water runoff and using pervious pavers for storm water infiltration.
