How many more good things can I say about my experiences with Sherman Nursery? I can think of a few.
Like our first garden funded by an important member of our City Council and her husband.
Our construction crew (thanks, guys) finished in the 11th hour. My director wanted a "jungle", instant Eden. The soil was as hard as concrete from the equipment, our crew was small - no, it was tiny. It was also past prime time for ordering and planting perennials.
I'll never forget the nervous churning in my stomach as I swung open those semi trailer doors - I was almost afraid to look.
Inside were some of the best looking, most glorious assortment of blooms I could have possibly hoped for! I would live to plant another day! We had set up some make-shift shade cloth to keep them looking that way until D-Day (Dedication Day)
I never forget those who don't let me down when it really counts - that oh, so important day - it was Sherman Nursery.

Granted, it's been a few years since a favorite part of my job was pouring through plant catalogs including Sherman's, but I'm glad to see them still doing what they do best.
I was the first horticulturist and manager of the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Garden outside Kansas City. Getting that project up and going was crucial to its survival and as much as I always loved my job, there was an undeniable amount of pressure to show results.
The plant material from Sherman never disappointed. Whew! They had the unique varieties I was often seeking, and their quality always exceeded my expectations. Each order was a significant value allowing me to make the most of my budget and the staff worked with me on what I needed and when.
Sherman's was one of the first catalogs I'd shop and they generally comprised a huge percentage of my orders.
Thanks to all of you; because of you (& other quality nurseries), you made our hard work and sacrifices worthwhile.
