"Alameda Greenhouse has been in business for almost 40 years. The first greenhouse in
Albuquerquethat was put up was a hydroponic greenhouse for growing tomatoes. It
evolved into a bedding plant grower in the late 1970’s. It was mainly a wholesale
operation until 1988, when we added a full nursery and garden shop. "

I love this nursery! There plants generally live and thrive. I have had great success.

No handicap accessibility or assistance. The County had them install one parking spot after I complained. I drove by afterwards and saw they'd placed pallets of manure on the handicap spot. After asking them for help shopping the narrow aisles for literally years, I finally spoke with a manager, Richard, and then an employee yelled at me and said "all you do is complain." Folks, there are at least three other mom-and-pops you and I can shop at where the parking and accessibility are great, who also have heirloom tomatoes but with a helpful cheerful demeanor and good prices. And there are also chain stores with heirloom tomatoes and experts. Such nastiness at Alameda! They still send me their flyers, and today's arrived and I thought that now that I have access to the web, I ought to say something and warn you that if you're disabled, or want disease-free tomatoes without tobacco smoke, this isn't the place for you.

I bought Green showers Ivy in 2006 from Alameda Nursery. I planted in the fall, and in the spring the ivy did not seem to be responding as well as I had hoped. I dug 8 plants up and took them in for the Nursery to refund or replace. They promptly replaced my plants without complaint, which I went home and planted late that spring (2007) Now ff to 2014 I have the most glorious ivy growing all over the wall which was an unsightly 12' high cinderblock retaining wall... It has become the predominate feature in a small back yard which was the drawback to the house when we bought it, but is now delightful outdoor living space with living green privacy walls that invite you to relax outside.... I love this Nursery, they always stand behind their products, and are very knowledgeable about the New Mexico growing environment... it is family owned, the plants are loving nurtured and acclimatized to help them adapt to your yard. Highly recommend!! I wish I could attach a photo.
