Farmington Valley Nursery began on 5 acres of land purchased prior to World War I by Harry Wilcox Sr. He lined up trees and shrubs to do landscaping. After serving our country during the war, he bought 50 acres near the Farmington River, 10 acres to grow on. In the 1940's, he decided the run the business as a nursery and no longer did landscaping.
