Greenland™ is a company with deep roots and a rich history. In 1960, John Chichak laid the foundation for the business, focusing on lawn maintenance while operating a small garden center in north Edmonton. In 1989, John's children, Deborah, Tim, Wayne, and son-in-law Rod, envisioned a garden center that would be a year-round haven for gardening enthusiasts and those seeking home decor and more. Thus, the new Greenland™ took shape in Sherwood Park, and on April 23, 1991, it proudly celebrated its grand opening.
Recognizing the desire of Greenland's™ loyal customers for a delightful dining experience, a small Garden Café was introduced within the store. Its popularity led to the establishment of a full-fledged restaurant in 2014, known as Branches Fresh Food Experience.
Now, after more than six decades since its inception, Greenland™ remains a family business dedicated to serving families across Alberta. We are grateful to be part of a supportive and generous community, and we take immense pride in providing excellence in quality, selection, and service throughout the year.
